Dr Stephen SmithDr Stephen Smith 

M.B.B.S

Since starting at New Street Medical Centre in 1973 and has seen many changes at New Street over the years. Dr Smith sees himself as a traditional family doctor being interested in the care of both children and the elderly and enjoys the challenge of dealing with the wide range of General Practice problems.

Dr Smith is happily married with three sons, a daughter and enjoys the good life on weekends especially when he is spending time with his grandchildren.

Consulting Sessions: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.


Dr. Baden BoanDr Baden Boan  

M.B.B.S

Dr Baden Boan graduated from Monash University in 1972. After graduation Dr Boan spent the next 6 years of his post graduate training working at various hospitals throughout Melbourne and in London. Dr Boan began working at New Street Medical Centre in 1990.

Dr Boan has a special interest in the care of the elderly, visiting many patients in hostels and nursing homes as well as all other aspects of general practice and family medicine.

Having lived in Brighton all his life, he is delighted to continue working at the New Street Medical Centre – the very medical practice he attended as a child.

Consulting Sessions: All day Monday, Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.


Dr Michael MinogueDr Michael Minogue

Dr Michael Minogue graduated from Melbourne University in 1975.

After completing 6 years of post-graduate training he worked  as a country GP for 12 years.

Dr Minogue joined New Street Medical Centre in 1994.  As well as his usual family medicine practice which he enjoys, as the father of four daughters he has a special interest in child and adolescent health issues.

Consulting Sessions:  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday all day. 


Dr. J. Padraic CollinsDr J. Padraic Collins  

M.B.B.S.  F.R.A.C.G.P.

Dr Paddy Collins has been practising in Brighton since 1995. Originally in Bay Street, he moved in 1999 and brought with him his experience in Geriatric Medicine. Completing his fellowship with the College of General Practitioners in 1995, he is interested in all aspects of being a family Doctor.

He is married to Alison and they have three young daughters. Dr Collins enjoys swimming, classical music and the occasional game of golf.

Consulting Sessions: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday all day and Thursday mornings only.


Fiona CochraneDr Fiona Cochrane

M.B.B.S. (Hons)

Fiona graduated from Monash University in 1983 and has been working in general practice in Brighton since 1987. She enjoys all aspects of general practice including Women’s health, Paediatrics and Travel Medicine. Fiona and Grant have two young sons who keep them very busy.

Fiona enjoys home renovating and golf.

Consulting Sessions: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.


Dr Sally FisherDr Sally Fisher

M.B.B.S.

Dr Sally Fisher graduated from Melbourne University in 1984 and has been practising at NSMC since 1997. As the mother of three busy children, Sally has an interest in paediatrics, mental health and women’s health including gynaecology. She especially enjoys being able to offer care across the whole family spectrum from the grandparents down to the newest family members. Sally is married to fellow GP Dr Stephen Rowles.

Consulting Sessions: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, Thursday all day.


Dr Taryn LurieDr Taryn Lurie

M.B.B.S.

Dr Taryn Lurie joined the team of Doctors at New Street Medical Centre in 2006. Taryn qualified in South Africa in 1991. After completing a Diploma in Child Health, she ran her own solo General Practice for five years. She has experience and interest in all areas of Family Medicine. Taryn is married to Clive, an anaesthetist and they are kept busy by their three children and pet dachshund. Taryn enjoys reading, gym, fishing and music.

Dr Karina StolyarskyDr Karina Stolyarsky

M.B.B.S., F.R.A.C.G.P

Dr Karina Stolyarsky joined New Street in 2008. In addition to general practice, Karina has a special interest in paediatrics and women’s health as well as expertise in weight loss and years of experience in the weight loss industry. Karina also has additional experience in ENT medicine and ophthalmology. Outside of general practice, Karina also does some surgical assistance.

Karina and her husband have three young children.

Consulting Sessions: Friday afternoons. Karina also works other sessions – please contact reception for dates and times.


Dr Peti TroupakisDr Peti Troupakis

M.B.B.S.

Peti graduated from Monash University in 1990, and has broad interests in all aspects of Family Medicine. Peti also speaks Greek.

Consulting Sessions: Tuesday and Thursday and Friday all day.


Dr Owen LuDr Owen Lu

M.B.B.S. F.R.A.C.G.P.

Dr Owen Lu graduated from Monash University and has a special interest in paediatrics and health promotion, in addition to general Medicine. Owen also speaks Cantonese.

Consulting Sessions: Monday and Wednesday.


Dr Shui KhooDr Shui Khoo

M.B.B.S.

Shui graduated from Melbourne University in 1990, and has worked for many years in general medicine and shared-care obstetrics at Frankston Hospital. Shui speaks Malay, Cantonese and French.

Consulting Sessions: Wednseday and Friday all day and alternate Thursday afternoon.


Dr Sallyanne CarleyDr Sallyanne Carley

Dr Sallyanne Carley graduated from the University of Queensland in 1978 and has been a GP in the Bayside area since 1989. Sallyanne is interested in all aspects of general practice, and particularly enjoys caring for older people.

Dr Bernadette WiseDr Bernadette Wise

M.B.B.S (Hons)

Dr Bernadette Wise graduated from Monash University in 1990 and enjoys all aspects of General Medicine.

Dr Wise has an interest in Paediatrics, Breast Cancer and preventative health.

As well as General Practice medicine, Dr Bernadette Wise enjoys spending time with family, cycling, gardening and chasing the odd chicken.

Dr Clare GillettDr Clare Gillett

M.B.B.S  (Hons)  F.R.A.C.G.P

Dr Clare Gillett graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (Honours) and has a Diploma in Child Health.  Dr Gillett is interested in medical education and is a Registrar Medical Educator with  Murray City Country Cost GP Training. Clare enjoys all aspects of General Practice, in particular women’s health and paediatrics.

Clare enjoys spending time with friends, walking her dog and travelling.

Consulting Sessions: All day Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.
