Dr Rod Trevena has a medical degree and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
He has a broad range of General Practice experience over many years and enjoys seeing patients of all ages.
He enjoys playing basketball, bike riding, snowboarding and has looked after a marine aquarium in his waiting room for over 20 years.

Dr Mahila Abbass completed her medical degree in 2011. She also has an undergraduate Bachelor degree in Behavioural Neuroscience and an Honours degree.
She has completed postgraduate training in Women’s Health with the Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG). Mahila has a special interest in the area of Women’s health and is an accredited provider of Shared Antenatal Care at all local public hospitals.
Mahila has been a practising as a General Practitioner since 2014. She has knowledge and experience in all aspects of medicine and enjoys looking after patients of all ages from children to the older generations.
Mahila loves to keep active at the gym, pilates, or walks with her friends and family.

Dr Karina Stolyarsky joined New Street in 2008. In addition to general practice, Karina has a special interest in paediatrics and women’s health. Dr Taryn Lurie joined the team of Doctors at New Street Medical Centre in 2006. Taryn qualified in South Africa in 1991. After completing a Diploma in Child Health, she ran her own solo General Practice for five years. Taryn is a patient, caring and devoted GP. She has experience and interest in all areas of family medicine. Taryn is married to Clive; an Anaesthetist and they are kept busy by three adult children and 2 pet dachshunds. Taryn enjoys reading, gym, music, and travel.

Dr Tiffane McIntyre graduated from Monash University in 1990. She then held positions at Caulfield Medical Centre, Monash Medical Centre, Alfred Hospital, Sandringham Hospital and Royal Children’s Hospital.
Tiffane completed her Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1993 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1996.
For the last 27 years she has thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of working in General Practice.
Tiffane grew up in Brighton and is very happy to be returning to the practice that she attended as a child.
Tiffane specialises in Aged Care, Women’s Health, Paediatrics and Psychological Health across all age groups.
In her spare time Tiffane loves keeping fit, cooking, and spending time with her husband, two teenage boys and their furry Cavoodle “Sparky”.

Dr Julia Danne completed her Fellowship in General Practice, through the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2020.
Prior to General Practice Julia spent 6 years in metropolitan and rural Melbourne Hospitals undertaking and completing training in Emergency Medicine, General Medicine & Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Ear Nose and Throat Surgery.
Julia enjoys the breadth of General Practice and has a focused interest in Women’s Health and Paediatrics. In addition, can perform small dermatological procedures.
Julia enjoys meeting new patients and working towards achieving the best possible healthcare outcomes.

The team of nurses at New Street Medical Centre assist our doctors in delivering continuous care to their patients that results in improved health outcomes. They offer the highest level of patient care in a caring and professional manner.

Our nurses also provide extra services for aged care, including the Department of Veteran Affairs patients enrolled in the Co-ordinated Veterans Care (CVC) program, and Home Health Assessments for patients aged 75 and over.
Annalise has been a Registered Nurse for over 27 years and is our DVA CVC coordinator, currently managing all of our Department of Veterans Affairs patients enrolled in the Co-ordinated Veteran’s Care (CVC) Program.
The Coordinated Veterans’ Care (CVC) Program is a team-based program designed to increase support for Gold Card holders with one or more targeted chronic conditions or complex care needs; and those who are at risk of unplanned hospitalisation.

Our nurse Jana Kalebic specialises in home health assessments. A health assessment of an older person is an in-depth assessment of a patient aged 75 years and over. It provides a structured way of identifying health issues and conditions that are potentially preventable or amenable to interventions in order to improve health and/or quality of life.
The purpose of this health assessment is to help identify any risk factors exhibited by an elderly patient that may require further health management. In addition to assessing a person’s health status, a health assessment is used to identify a broad range of factors that influence a person’s physical, psychological and social functioning.

Allied Health
Carmen Bouchier has been a practicing dietician since 1999 and joined the team at New Street in 2006. Carmen’s specialties include weight loss, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, eating disorders and sports nutrition. Carmen is passionate about teaching people how to live a healthy, balanced life that is free from the guilt that so often accompanies eating. She uses an individualised approach and tailors meals to suit individual’s specific requirements.
Consulting Sessions: Thursday all day and every second Tuesday morning.
Dr Jacinta Ryan – Clinical Psychologist, B.A. (Hons), Doctorate Clinical Psychology training (Monash D Psych coursework), Ph.D. Special interests include stress management, adjustment to life transitions, and parenting and personality issues.
Pathology
Melbourne Pathology provides on-site pathology to the patients of New Street Medical Centre, which includes blood tests, ECGs, breath tests, etc. They are open from 8am-5pm Monday to Friday and from 9am-12pm on Saturdays.
